This blog, in general, has been a long time coming. In fact, the ideas for a blog started several years ago. So I thought it best to launch it on a day with another new beginning…Incubator Start Day!!!
For the past two weeks I’ve been collecting eggs from my first ever heritage breed hens. This is the something I have dreamed about for 3 years! Ever since meeting my first turkeys at a poultry processing plant during my final semester of college, I wanted to own and breed them (I know, I’m weird). After 2 seasons of broad-breasted turkeys and 1 season of heritage breeds, I finally have eggs! They are all tucked warm and cozy into their incubator and the countdown has begun.
